Dear Potential New Members,

Hi everyone! My name is Cat Scruggs, and I am so grateful and truly blessed to serve as the 2026 Vice President of Membership for Alpha Psi. This role is such an honor and I could not be more thankful. It is only possible because of the sisterhood that has loved me, encouraged me, and shaped me into the person I am today. Recruitment is my favorite time of year because it’s more than just a process—it’s a chance to help others find a place where they feel supported, seen, and deeply valued. I hope this gives you a glimpse into why Delta Gamma means so much to me.

The transition into college can feel overwhelming. Whether you’re coming from far away or just down the road, it’s a big step into the unknown. I remember praying for clarity and comfort during that time, hoping I would find my place and my people. Going Greek made a large university feel smaller and more personal for me, and Delta Gamma became the answer to those prayers. From the moment I stepped into this sisterhood, I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging. I was embraced exactly as I was, encouraged to grow, and reminded daily of my worth. What started as a house quickly became a home, and the girls inside it became family. My sisters have shaped who I am today and who I am continuing to grow into, and I hope you find that same peace and joy wherever you are meant to be.

As you walk through this season, here are a few things I hope you carry with you:

Find joy in it all—even in the chaos. Recruitment can be busy, emotional, and sometimes overwhelming, but it is also so special. Take a step back, breathe, laugh, and soak in the moments. This is a season you’ll look back on for years.

Be intentional in every conversation. Every interaction matters. Be present, listen with an open heart, and allow yourself to truly connect. The most meaningful moments often come from genuine, simple conversations.

Give yourself grace. This process isn’t about being perfect. There may be moments of doubt, nerves, or exhaustion—and that’s okay. Trust that you are being guided exactly where you need to be, even when things feel uncertain.

Stay grounded in who you are. You don’t need to change or mold yourself to fit anywhere. The right place will feel like peace and will love you for exactly who you are.

Be confident. You are more than enough. There is no “right” thing to wear or say—the best thing you can bring is confidence in yourself. When you feel good in who you are, it shows in every room you walk into.

Your future at Ole Miss is filled with new friendships, growth, and experiences that will shape you in the most beautiful ways. We are so excited to welcome you to Oxford and cannot wait to meet you in August.

Yours sincerely! ITB!

Cat Scruggs
