Dear Potential New Members,

Hi everyone! My name is Maggie Blanke and I am beyond grateful and blessed for the opportunity to be the 2025 Vice President of Membership for Alpha Psi! Taking on this role is a dream come true, a dream only made possible by the incredible sisterhood that has so graciously shaped me into the person I am today. Recruitment is my favorite time of year because it is a chance to help others, like you, find that same sense of love and support, I have found in this home. I hope this message gives you a glimpse into what makes Delta Gamma- and the whole recruitment process- so meaningful to me.

The transition to college can be overwhelming- it’s a big change whether you’re coming from across the country, or just down the road. I remember feeling nervous about finding my place and finding my people. Going Greek made all that difference. Going Greek is one of the best ways to make a large university feel small, providing a built-in support system and connection to last a lifetime. For me, Delta Gamma was exactly that. From the moment I stepped into this sisterhood, I felt an instant sense of belonging. The girls in Delta Gamma embraced me wholeheartedly, valued me for who I am, and made a house feel like a home. Since then, my sisters have transformed me into the person I am, and the person I hope to be years forward. I hope you can find the same sense of belonging that I found in Delta Gamma.

As you begin to prepare for this exciting new chapter, here are a few pieces of advice to keep in mind:

1. Be yourself. Trust that the right home will embrace and celebrate you for exactly who you are.

2. Be kind to yourself! This process can be scary and overwhelming at times, but trust that you will end up exactly where you are meant to be!

3. Be confident! You are more than enough and everyone you meet will see that! There’s no “right” or “perfect” thing to wear. The best thing to wear is something that makes you feel like the best version of yourself because that confidence will shine through. Confidence comes from embracing what makes you, YOU!

4. Stay true to yourself. Recruitment is a time to focus on what feels right for you! Trust your instincts, follow your heart and remember you deserve to find a place where you feel valued for who you truly are.

5. Savor these moments! This journey is one you’ll look back on for years to come! Take it all in and remember it’ll all work out just as it’s meant to!

Your future at Ole Miss is brimming with possibilities, new friendships, and experiences that will shape your life in amazing ways! We are so excited to welcome you to Oxford and cannot wait to meet you in August!

Yours sincerely! ITB,

Maggie Blanke

To The Girl Going Through Recruitment, XOXO Recruitment Team

  • If I can tell you anything it is that college really does fly by, so enjoy every moment of it. Squeeze your friends tight, laugh as hard as you can, and take the opportunity to make every new memory possible.

  • Trust the process, and know that everything happens for a reason. There is a place waiting for you no matter where you end up!

  • My biggest piece of advice would be trust the process and enjoy every minute of it. The week of craziness is so worth the end! And just to take this time to meet so many amazing women and find your future best friends!

  • Going through recruitment is scary and overwhelming, but my biggest piece of advice is to look for a place where you feel at home. Find the girls that you feel comfortable to be yourself with and girls who will support you no matter what!

  • True sisterhood is something so special and something we all search for going through recruitment. Always be your true, authentic self, that is the best version of you!

  • Just remember to trust the process and stay true to yourself! Recruitment week is long, but it is all worth it. You will end up where you are meant to be and everything will happen for a reason! Coming from so far out of state, I was so nervous to go through recruitment. Looking back, it was one of the best weeks- full of meeting new friends and amazing experiences!

  • My biggest advice would be to be yourself, and have as much fun as possible during this week because it will fly by! Be a friend to everyone because you never know where you could meet your best friends!

  • One thing I wish I was told before going through recruitment is to just take it all in! This process is so rewarding when you find your forever sisterhood. Keep your head held high and enjoy every minute of it because it all really does go by so fast!
